Review:

This might be controversial but I didn't really like this book I'M SORRY!! I feel like I've heard this book be hyped up sooo much, but to me it was confusing, predictable, and kind of boring. The best part of the book was seeing how the letters were made/delivered, I mean it was good enough that I actually finished the book still (it helped that it wasn't suppeerrrr long). My biggest gripe was that thwe whole entire thing felt like the beginning of a fantasy novel where you have no idea what anyone is talking about but the book isn't long enough for you to actually learn anything for real. Maybe it all just went over my head or something, but I'm no stranger to (or hater of) a show-don't-tell worldbuilding approach. It felt more like a fun little movie tie-in than a standalone story to me. And like the whole thing was so predictable, maybe that's the point but it felt like it was supposed to be some super clever twist but it was obvious from the beginning who the seeker was (I forget if that's what it was called sorry I'm writing this like 2 months after finishing the book oopsie..). It's entirely possible the whole thing went over my head but I didn't like it that much.
