*SPOILERS FOR CROWN OF MIDNIGHT AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!*
I cannot even believe this... Shit is going down, hitting the fan, etc. The amount of gasps I have gusped so far and I'm only like halfway through?!?! At least this time I have the sense to write SOMETHING here before finishing the book, because after this we'll see if I write something else or just fly through the rest of the book and only make another post here once it's done. Since getting my e-reader I've been reading reading reading and also reading anytime I'm not at work ( and once the case I ordered comes in, I'll be bringing with me there too. I just don't want it loose in my bag to get dinged and scratched and full of sand and whatever sort of mystery dirt that seems to spawn in tote bags. I might also crochet a little bag for it for extra protection hehe!) And so okay I have a lot of theories about what's going on and what's going to happen and how certain things are going to unfold etc. First one being like WELL OKAY,, Celaena KEEPS mentioning like "If the king find out about this power" etcetc. and it's like to me it seems so far pretty obvious that he already knows about it and is probably using it BUT the fact that she mentions it so many times makes me think Maas is going to pull some sort of twist that like He DOESN'T and it's jsut made to seem that way. Obviously Perrington does and obviously there's something going on with those black rings. My thought right now is that maybe he's controlling the king somehow? Because him and the king were talking about his influence on Cain and Kaltain (also that name like... my brain says Kaitlyn when I read it, and my brain said Selena for basically all of TOG when I saw Celaena) so to me who's to say he isnt also using it on the king? I guess maybe he would notice already though. Like he's obviously using wyrdmarks and all that somehow even if it's through someone else and not him directly. METHINKS. Also rn Celaena just got out of the dungeon and OKAY I feel like MAYBE Nahemia and Elena's plan was to have her killed in order to make Celaena no longer trust and have a bond with anyone in the castle (Chaol esp and Dorian too but I have a feeling they'll connect again bc magic powers and such). She obviously knows it wasn't the king that killed her, so she knows Chaol didn't know she was going to die AND he did have people watching her. I do think he should have just told her and/or Celaena because if he was literally willing to keep her secret (CRAZY BTW) and run away with her and leave behind his title and position then like what does it matter if he goes against the king anyway BUT at the same time if he did tell them and they did something then the king would know he told them and could harm any of them and then THAT'S also almost a bigger risk. IDK I don't want her to want to kill him LOL I was litcherally rooting for them but like I GET why she feels that way bc of her trauma and past and stuff it's complicated. But I want him to do something crazy to like make it right with her. Anyway that's all for this post. BYEEE!
