Like okay yes NOW we're getting into the meat of THG. Things are starting to heat up, Peeta is at it again with "If it weren't for the baby..." This fuckin GUY!!!!! AND the classic "Katniss, there is no district twelve." Mama there is no plane... Seriously though the like dramatic irony of Katniss not trusting any of her allies but knowing as the reader (although I have read these books before so maybe it's just because I alrady know but I do think it's a bit obvious.) that they're NOT going to kill her or Peeta, BUT at the same time I can understand her distrust and she's just young. Fully forgot how young she is until she said seventeen. It's a bit hard to read books with younger protags because I'm like omg why are they kind of annoying and don't understand this thing?? And then I have to step back and be like ohhhh right they're just young and the author is realistically writing a young character lol. As the story progresses and the sort of love triangle continutes and develops I AM really interested to see how the ending and how Mockingjay in general feels to me now as an adult, verses when I was younger. Because when I was young I DID loveee the whole "Gale vs Peeta" thing, now I kind of hate it? In a way it's like I can understand what it represents or at least what each of them mean to her and represent to her and all that right I understand the narrative tool of it all. But like ,,, oh my god LOL I am just like okay like figure it out. Even though I know that's probably not fair I literally just finished saying she's young, and also she has a lot on her plate LOL BUT just to say it I guess I really like Peeta, BUT!! It is very like.. she has to pretend to love him, even if it turns out she does, that has to be confusing and complicated emotionally and mentally for her. And he's what the capitol WANTS he's what President Snow wants and I see that more now than I did when I was younger. Which is why I wonder if I'll have a different perspective now when it comes to Mockingjay/ the end of Mockingjay in general. But we shall see tune in in maybe a week or two to see what I think about Mockingjay.
