About Me

Name: Sunny

Pronouns: She/They

Age: 26

Sign: Aries

Location: Canada

Hi there!

My name is Sunny and I hope you're enjoying my site so far! I started this website in February of 2025, and before then I had very VERY little HTML and CSS knowledge, and zero Javascript knowledge (I pretty much still have zero lol). My code is pretty janky, but I love my little website hehe.

I'm not entirely sure what to write here to be honest... I enjoy things like reading, watching movies, collecting hot wheels I think are cool/cute/silly, taking film pictures, and lately recording on my vhs-c camcorder! I make art here and there, I always feel an itch to be making something (this website has been really nice for that actually). I crochet and knit(mostly crochet), I do a bit of metalsmithing but I've only just started! Very rarely I paint with oil paints like VERY rarely, and I've yet to finish a painting. I like to sketch, and sometimes I'll make full digital pieces. I also really like to mess around in blender. I also really like playing video games, mostly story driven games but sometimes I branch out lol. I enjoy all different kinds of music. It goes from pop to goth to metal to rap to showtunes and even SOME country music, and lots in between. My taste in music is GENUINELY a little bit of everything, even though it sounds like a cop-out when someone asks lol. I also read tarot sometimes!

Lately I've mostly been reading. My boyfriend got me a kindle and it's nuts how much I read now! I like fantasy and some horror here and there.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy poking around my site, I feel like it says more about me than I can write here haha. Thanks for reading this!

100 Questions for Webmasters

From MOUSELING.net

(Filled out on November 27th, 2025)

1. Please introduce yourself.
See Above lol
2. How long have you been making websites?
Since February 2025! So it'll be a year in a few months!
3. And what got you into the hobby?
I had tried getting into web development before in likeee 2020/2021? But I just couldn't grasp CSS for the life of me and I gave it up for awhile. Then earlier this year I saw a youtube video about the indie web and making your own website (which I can't seem to find now to link it I'm so sorry ;-;) and I decided to take another crack at it, and this time it stuck!
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?
I really like personal websites, I love when a website is clearly also a creative/art project! Like I don't love websites that look too "corporate", I find them very impressive still, like ik whoever made it probably worked hard on it and has a good eye for design, but I prefer sites with lots of character!
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?
It depends! I usually write in my journal and make a rough sketch of the vibe, then list page ideas like things I definitely want to include, and other things that are a maybe or might be a bit more ambitious lol. But once I start it's pretty as I go lol
6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.
Olliveen - One of the first sites I saw when I started exploring Neocities! How soon is now? - SO beautiful!!! coffeeplant - A BIG inspo for my current layout! There are honestly so many!!!! You should check out this page for all my neighbours and sites I find cool/inspirational!!
7. What's your favourite part about making websites?
The whole creative process, and seeing a page all come together. Also trying something new and having it work feels awesome!
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
Probably reactivity LOL... I really struggle to keep some pages (like this one) looking good when the window gets resized...
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?
Nope!! I mean I guess the overall idea is the same for most of my pages but I certianly don't follow that idea for all pages (like this one!). I don't want to feel like I can't make a page because it doesn't "fit" with the rest of the website.
10. How confident are you with CSS?
Bah... Confident I can figure it out LOL (and even more confident I can google what I don't know LOL) I pretty much learn on an as needed bases.
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?
I think so but also that probably means no LOL I've learned I just don't really use it ever so yeahhh..
12. What is your favourite HTML element?
Probably <a> bc I use it A LOT :) OH or <iframe> even though I don't use it very much, it's cool what I've seen other people do with it!! (Altho I wish people would stop putting their webrings in their iframes ;-; but I digress...)
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?
Figure out what I want on the page, like if I want the page to lead to other pages, get a general idea of the content, and I'll usually do a quick sketch in my journal for the layout especially when I'm sort of drawing a blank on what exactly I want it to look like lol or if I had multiple ideas I'm trying to decide between.
14. Do you know JavaScript?
HELL no!! Any JavaScript on this site it can pretty much be guaranteed I either 1.Googled how to do it and then asked my boyfriend what everything means so I at least understand what it's doing. or 2. I just straight up asked my boyfriend to do it for me LOL
15. How about PHP?
Hang on a second I have to google something real quick... Uh no <3
16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?
For the most part I would say yes, BUT I don't let myself get too obsessed with following that theme 24/7, I like the idea of being able to make whatever I want and not feel like I'd have to have a whole other site for it if it doesn't fit the theme. Also, weirdly enough, I feel like a more solid theme comes when I don't try so hard to follow one lol
17. Are you more focused on content or design?
Uhmmm this is kind of hard bc - at least on this website - I feel like they go hand in hand? BUT I guess design, in the sense that I couldn't just put all my HTML down first and then start to make it all look nice and how I want in CSS, I have to do them both together as I add elements. (Maybe everyone does it like that though? LOL)
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?
I don't, I could I guess but I just don't feel the need/desire to? Maybe someday if I think of a good one LOL but for now I like the .neocities.org of it all lol
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?
SO COOL!! I never made my own website back in the day but I was surfing the web alot LOL. I think so many people have captured that era REALLY well, and it's especially cool when the nostalgia sites are made my the same people who were literally MAKING those sites back then.
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?
I just checked and I don't use alt attributes on my images so I guess it's not valid? Ik that's an issue on my site I avoid it bc I'm bad at writing alt text ;-; but ik I should.
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
Love em!!! Some of them are so creative and funny, and esp site buttons it's cool to see how people represent their website in a little button.
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
I think they're cool and cute, it's like a little collection of digital trinkets lol
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?
I'd make something completely different in terms of design, but the content would probably be the same. If I didn't want to do something completely different I wouldn't start over. If I ever do a complete change/ whole new site I'd probably try and make one of those really pretty blogs people do where it's like just a square in the middle of the page and usually it's anime themed in some way? I think those are really pretty and they remind me of old tumblr blog templates people used to make.
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?
Yes, altho I'm mostly just inspired by them! I don't like to compare my website to other sites because I know I'm not trying to make something someone else has made, I'm trying to make my own thing. But sometimes I am like DAMN I wish I could do that lolol
25. What text editor do you use?
Pheonix Code (The desktop version, not the web version)
26. Why do you use that one?
I like the live preview, and I was going to use VS Code but it NEEDED to be on my C drive which was too full so I couldn't install it lol
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?
Pretty much all on my web server, I might as well since I pay for the storage! And I don't wanna worry about sites shutting down/not working and then all my images being broken.
28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?
I think they're two different options to achieve the same thing and it really depends what you're looking for and features that matter to you! I actually made a Nekoweb account recently and have been debating hosting this site on both (OR making another website entirtely on there) just to see what's up. I think a debate is stupid and pointless tho, it's just personal preference.
29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?
I'm not sure because I don't totally understand the question.
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?
Yes, I have all my website files on my PC, although I actively edit them so maybe that doesn't count?
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?
I'd say highly visual! There are some simple websites I like but for the most part I'm more drawn to like... Maximalist websites.
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?
I guess I do, I think it's subconcious and it's just colours that I find nice. I'm a big pink and antiquewhite fan lol
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?
Not really, it's really enjoyable and there's no pressure or stress. I just do what I want and update when I want, it's not so serious I'd ever need to stress out about it enough that I'd "quit". Even if I ever just stopped doing it I wouldn't consider it "quitting".
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
My best friend and my boyfriend are both web developers professionally, but I don't have any friends who have personal sites like this. But even so I can talk about it and show them my site and they'll understand what's going on and what I'm talking about.
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
Yes! My friends know about it and my boyfriend was showing his friend my site the other day haha! There's not really anything too secret or personal on here that I wouldn't share with them anyway. That being said I probably wouldn't tell like... a coworker about it or someone I don't know that well.
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?
Nah, I would consider very often like almost every day? Like people who are very up to date on their blogs and things like that would update very often. It fluctuates with how often I work on my site. Sometimes I go weeks without touching it, and other times I work on it every day (even if I don't update bc I'm working on a bigger update).
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?
Not really, usually once a page is up I keep it the way it is and just update the content. Altho if I want to add something new to the page sometimes it means having to change the design a bit (like this page lol). I revamped my website before since I had learned more and felt I could branch out more. Also I updated some stuff for Halloween, and might again for xmas!
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?
Hobby focused I think! Me focused too but I think most stuff has to do with hobbies of mine?
39. Do you do web design professionally?
Noo. I'm not good enough at web design to do that! I wish I could be paid to work on THIS site though haha
40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?
I'm not sure... Maybe it could be fun, but like I said I don't think I'm good enough at design to do it professionally. Plus I feel like I wouldn't be able to have any fun, it would all be corporate boring sites and I don't love the idea of having to just make what someone else says to make. I do nothing for work right now...
41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?
Pretty much never!
42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?
Not really, not even to reject it I just dont use it that much anymore? I use tiktok sometimes, I find a lot of cool art and makeup inspo on there, but it can really suck you in so I try not to use it too often. I use likeee youtube and snapchat (just the messaging I don't watch ppls stories or the like clickbait stories they have now), but I deleted instagram, and facebook is just my marketplace machine now, and I haven't used Twitter in years (pretty much since it became X and I refuse to call it that lol) I don't use any of the alternatives either.
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?
Yeah, I use discord sometimes usually to play jackbox with my friends, and I'm in some servers (like a really old wlw server that's somehow still active which is amazing?? Shoutout Ava, and kindle modding server so I could find out when the new jailbreak was out). I use WhatsApp if that counts? And like I said I use snapchat to talk to my friends.
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?
Pretty much always, unless I have a video playing in the background! The type of music depends on the day, and sometimes depends on the page. But 9 times out of 10 it's some hard techno playlist.
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?
It's alll on this one (for now idk about the future).
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
Many, I don't want to feel like I can't talk about whatever I want on here.
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?
My real self, although I don't post pictures of myself really, but I don't make a persona really.
48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?
Not as of right now but who knows!
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?
I don't think I know enough to complain about anything.
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
Putting their webring links in iframes!!! You can't go to other sites in the webring if you do that it just messes up your site!! Otherwise I'm too new to judge anything other people do!
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
Put a link to their neocities profile on their site somewhere (if they're on neocities)! There are so many cool sites I would follow but I can't get to their profile ;-; Specifically if they have their own domain, the .noeocites.org sites usually I can figure it out. ALSO not using target="_blank" on their links when they should or using them when they shouldn't. I don't want to lose the site I was on, but I also don't want a million tabs of the same site.
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?
Genericcccc!!! I just don't feel like semantic html makes total sense with the way my website is? If I change the style or make a new site I'll consider it.
53. Do you consider different browsers?
Unfortunately no...
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.
I use Opera GX, I just like the look of it and the sounds and the built in vpn. HATE the ai shit tho I disable it. It doesn't take as much CPU as chrome does so that's why I use it but you don't have to, use what you want. I'm sure there's many reasons not to use Opera GX tbh it's just what I know.
55. And what OS are you on?
Windows 10
56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?
I just happen to use it! I've always used it and I hate how complicated linux is, why do I basically have to hack into a government database to install anything and then it doesn't even work?
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?
NO!!
58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?
I use it, I don't mind it on other sites, I think as long as you have a way to stop the music and/or it's not too loud it's fine.
59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?
LOVE EM!!!! I'm in three as you can see on my Index page .
60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?
I don't yet but I would really like to make some!! I think it's really cool when people basically make their own wiki of the thing their shrine is of. Also page styling specific to the shrine is always cool imo.
61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?
Uhhhh maybe? Idk I don't think it really matters. I think there are sites that are more cliche that mine, but who cares? If you're not stealing from anyone then why does it matter if you really like it? As long as you're true to you I think beign cliche doesn't matter.
62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?
I don't have an ideal website, as long as I'm still having fun then it's my ideal website.
63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?
I would like to consider myself an artist but no I don't make my own assets (except in the case of smthn I'm working on rn). I should, it would be cool to.
64. What are your favourite resource sites?
Solaria's Webspace, This HTML & CSS cheat sheet, Scripted Resources, Rentry (Lots of pngs but also annoying popups), unfortunately pinterest...
65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?
...using images from pinterest and also not using alt text on my images...
66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?
The best way to learn is to try doing it!! Online courses are awesome and can be really helpful but the way I learned was to just Do it and look up anything I didn't know how to do. When I first started I had no idea how to use CSS to change the layout of a page and I learned how by figuring out how I wanted it to look and googling how to achieve that and reading lots of stack overflow and reddit answers!
67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?
I used to hard code almost all of it, but now I keep in all in CSS unless putting it there breaks it and I can't figure out how to fix it.
68. What do you think of frameset layouts?
Uhhh if this means like a bunch of iframes then they're cool!
69. How about table-based layouts?
Also cool!
70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?
I guess I kind of use them on some pages?? But over all I don't.
71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?
The CSS because I tweak so much to get thing where I want them.
72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.
No I have not.
73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?
Only as the need arises.
74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?
I would consider myself a beginner maybe like intermediate-beginner, beause there's stuff I know by heart now and I don't have to google every little thing. But I certainly don't know enough to not call myself a beginner.
75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?
Only if I see something that really catches my eye and I have no idea how they might have accomplished it.
76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?
By just MAKING one! I was learning online at the same time on freecodecamp, but actually using the stuff I was learning to make the website and learning new things by googling stuff I wanted to do and didn't know how to was how it all really stuck. Waiting until you feel like you know everything will have you waiting forever and never starting.
77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?
Sometimes
78. Thoughts on floating elements?
Big fan, huge fan, that's probably pretty obvious on this site.
79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?
vw.... I've been trying to use % lately but idk THAT part I'm still learning.
80. Do you have a favourite font?
Meglona
81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?
Sure if one of my friends or my bf wanted to do that I think it could be fun! I think we would just each make pages as we see fit, and we could add things to each other's pages. It would sort of give The Night Circus iykyk.
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?
Not as often as I should!
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?
Really inspiring websites I bookmark. I would feel pretty cool!
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?
The overall ""vibe"", I would like cool people to see my site and think I must be cool lol
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?
Kind of! I collect cameras but that's less about technology and more about cameras lol. I do like cosmetic mods and jailbreaking stuff though. I modded my switch lite (and lowkey broke the left thumbstick in the process but wtv) to have a transparent pink shell, and I've jailbroken a DSI and my kindle.
86. How often and for how long are you online?
I'm online a lot and for hours lol, usually watching a video, listening to music and/or working on this site.
87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?
I really don't have one, it's for me first and if others think it's cool well that's really cool!!
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?
I don't know what that is so no.
89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?
Not really. I know a little Python from high school but I haven't used it really at all since then. Right now it's just this site! I think programming is really cool though.
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?
If I understand correctly what that is I don't have a strong opinion on them I guess? I think it's maybe more rewarding to make your site by hand, but not everyone who wants a personal site wants to learn to do that, and I think that's okay! But I think you should at least try making it yourself at least once.
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?
I do! I just think it's fun. I always find it cool to see them on other people's sites.
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?
I do not.
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?
Directly in the editor!
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?
I hope the people I find cool find me cool, I don't feel like EVERYONE has to find me cool. My friends say I'm cool, that's what matters to me!
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?
NOPE! My "old work" isn't that old yet, and my old site layout is still up on my site. Considering how little I knew when I started it, I'm still really proud of it.
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?
I'd leave an archive to look back on!
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?
Meh, I'm not super secretive on purpose. I don't post pictures of myself (except one time on my piclog), but otherwise I don't try to be secretive and mysterious.
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?
I don't really have a best online friend, I haven't had online friends I've been close with in years.
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?
No...
100. We're out of time! How do you feel after answering 100 questions? ....other than exhausted.
I feel like I still have a lot to learn lol!
